S. da K1 Data acquisition and interface systems K1 electrical engineering K1 LabVIEW K1 engineering projects K1 virtual instrumentation AB This paper presents a case study of integration ofvirtual instrumentation in the development of engineeringprojects in undergraduate electrical engineering education,regarding a Data Acquisition and Interface Systems (DAIS)course. The DAIS course is part of the undergraduatecurriculum in electrical engineering degree of FederalUniversity of Campina Grande (UFCG). This course is veryimportant in the training of students who will work in the areaof electronics, and uses LabVIEW as educational tool to carryout the practical activities. In the semester course, the teacherand the monitor followed up the student teams that proposedengineering projects to be developed during four milestones ofthe DAIS course. For each milestone, LabVIEW tutoringsessions and educational assessment are performed with studentteams. Statistical analysis of the collected data is done bysemester course and by academic year. At the end of the course,students learned about the content passed and they were fullysatisfied with LabVIEW, considering the tool with 95.50% ofusefulness during the academic year and 100.00%recommendation to be applied in other engineering projects.
