This article reviews the projectmanagement competencies, Generation Z profile, and teachingmethods trends reported in the literature. It presents a studyinvolving 147 engineering students, through a self-reportquestionnaire, to explore their profile's self-awareness andcompare it with the literature. A correlational study links theGeneration Z personality traits with project management softskills. Findings reveal interesting personality characteristics ofGeneration Z engineering students for project management. The sample showed low recognition of their individualism, lesspersonal relationships, and did not value their creativepotential. Some traits have a significant effect on critical softskills. Other soft skills were not supported in personality traits. This work suggests implications for re-think educationalapproaches to Generation Z engineering students.
