On fine needle aspiration biopsy, atypia wasfound, and these hepatic lesions were resected withfree margins. The specimen showed liver metastasesof an aggressive malignant neuroendocrine neo-plasm. The primary site was subsequently identified tobe in the pancreas. The physician and surgeon mustrealize that non-related diseases can develop afterbariatric surgery, as in the general population.
