AB Formative assessment tools can benefit from theaddition of gamification elements, as stronger engagement maygenerate further learning opportunities. However, adding gamificationelements to such tools may require a significant developmenteffort and leads to few opportunities for re-use, e.g. amongdifferent e-learning tools within the same course or degree. In thispaper, we describe a platform for offering gamification elementsas a service to any formative assessment tool. We describe ourexperience in an introductory course for Digital Circuit Designin a Computer Science Degree.
