AB Through the evolution ofthe concepts of memory and monument we can understand the phenomenon of recoveryof tombs in the late Middle Ages, as a reflect of moral and social status of individuals orgroups. In the graves there are reflected aspects such as humility or charity, virtues whosepractice contributes to the celestial immortality, while heraldry or location of the grave areused to promote terrestrial immortality. Obsequies and funerary monuments have helpedto keep the royal memory, and in the case of the knights, their clothes show their status,both as men of war and as Miles Christi.
