This dissertation aims to study the evolution of theAfro-Americans struggles to became education equal for both races. So that, this essayis divided into three sections. Firstly, the evolution of Afro-American education untilthe mid20th century will be commented. The second section will expose the differentcivil rights movements that were involved in the 50s and 60s in order to defend AfroAmericaneducation and civil rights as well as the process of integration. Finally, thecase of the nine students that were prevented to get into the high school due to their skincolour, in a period where Afro-Americans’ interracial inclusion had been legallyaccepted in High schools will be analysed. They were called “The Little Rock nine”.
