T1 La gestión de residuos sólidos urbanos en Tenerife

AB This paper analyses the urban waste management on the island of Tenerife through theevaluation of its Plan Territorial Especial de Ordenación de los Residuos (PTEOR), andits degree of implementation in the practice. It’s more, also compares Tenerife’s modelwith others existing around the world, like Taiwan or San Francisco. With this method,we’ll know its strengths and weakness to observe the direction that have taken othersocieties to facing this problem, which management is increasingly crucial. Because ofthis study of the plan and the comparative study with other models, it concludes thatTenerife’s model isn’t met in practice and therefore, it may be improvable.
