AB This report aims to shed light on the dark parts of the History of Education in theCanary Islands exactly before the celebration of the first Summer School organized by agroup of teachers who had been in contact for several years with the different nacionalPedagogical Renewal Movements, such as Rosa Sensat Institution or Célestin FreinetMovement, among others. Although there are some several works on this matter, it is obviousthat those reports are not enough to give us a clear picture of the state of Education from thelate Franco Period until the beginning of the democratic transition. For this reason, differentacademic resources have been used, trying to consider alternative ways to provide thegreatest possible range, such as reports closely related to the national PRMs, the GeneralEducation Law, local press, educational magazines, etc.
