Multiculturalismo, igualdad y educación

Abstract

En este trabajo se ha realizado una revisión de la relación entre multiculturalismo, igualdad y educación a partir de la problemática específica de la igualdad de oportunidades en educación. Se parte de la constatación de que se ha producido un desplazamiento notable de la preocupación por la igualdad a la preocupación por la justicia. Este salto tiene mucho que ver con la necesidad de pensar la igualdad en sintonía con el principio de diferencia. El problema es que quien ha hegemonizado este debate en torno a la justicia ha sido el pensamiento liberal, el cual ha sepultado las implicaciones del debate a fuerza de obligarnos a pensar cierta desigualdad como base de toda realización.

In this work I have made a review of the relation between equality, multiculturalism, and education from the point of view of the specific problem of educational equal opportunities. Concern about equality has given place for concern about justice. This change it is very much related to the idea of thinking about equality according to the principle of the difference. The problem is that it has been the liberal thought the one that has dominated this debate about justice, and this currents of thinking tend to hide the implications of the debate by obliging us to see inequality in any form of creation.
