Abstract

El Centro de Investigación Arte y Entorno tiene como finalidad desarrollar y gestionar, bajo el amparo del marco de la Universidad Politécnica de Valencia, un programa integral de investigación, desarrollo e innovación, referido a la interacción existente entre las diferentes disciplinas artísticas y su relación con el entorno, que fomente la promoción y la difusión del conocimiento, sirviendo de respuesta a las demandas de una sociedad en continuo proceso de modernización y que requiere soluciones en este ámbito. Por su carácter multidisciplinar, dicho programa integral se manifiesta a través de actividades que discurren por disciplinas como la escultura, la pintura, la comunicación visual y el diseño, además de contemplar su relación y complementariedad con la arquitectura y el urbanismo. Es misión de este Centro servir de elemento catalizador y dinamizador de todos aquellos aspectos que intervienen en este amplio campo relacional, con el fin de analizar y proyectar intervenciones plásticas interdisciplinares que contemplen las particularidades del entorno investigado, elevando el atractivo sociocultural en beneficio de la cohesión ciudadana y la identificación de los ciudadanos con las actuaciones de mejora de su ciudad o de su espacio natural circundante.

Under the protection of the framework of the Polytechnic University of Valencia, the Art and Environment Research Centre aims to develop and manage a comprehensive research, development and innovation programme, relating to the interaction existing between the different artistic disciplines and their relationship with their environment. This interaction encourages the promotion and diffusion of knowledge, acting as a response to the demands of a society which is undergoing the constant process of modernization and thus requires solutions in this field. Due to its multi-disciplinary character, said comprehensive programme is brought to life through activities spanning sculpture, painting, visual communication and design, as well as examining its relationship and complementarity with architecture and town planning. This Centre’s mission is to act as a catalytic and dynamic element of all those aspects which fall under this broad relational umbrella. Its aim is to analyse and put forward inter-disciplinary sculpture and modelling projects, which study the particularities of the environment investigated, thereby increasing its socio-cultural appeal, to the benefit of citizens’ unity and the identification of citizens whose actions can improve their city or their natural surrounding area.
