Reflejos de cotidianeidad en el Libro de la Salida al Dia

Abstract

En el Libro de la Salida al Dia -conocido también como Libro de los Muertos- se combinan elementos irreales y sobrenaturales con otros que parecen dejar entrever un trasfondo de la vida diaria del egipcio. De este modo, se conforma de forma paralela un Más Allá que resulta por un lado, ajeno y desconocido, y por otro lado, cercano y familiar. Nuestro principal objetivo es contextualizar algwms aspectos de esta composición religiosa en el entorno vital del egipcio. Para llevar a cabo este estudio se analizarán las imágenes intentando examinar las conexiones con el mundo real. El estudio de la iconografía y otros aspectos nos permitirá abordar varias cuestiones con la intención de valorar, en el contexto histórico de la expansión de la ilustración en la literatura funeraria egipcia, hasta qué punto las representaciones fueron fruto solamente de la imaginación libre o tenian su base en la realidad vivida.

In the Book of Going Forth by Day -<~1so known as Book of the Dead-- exists a combination of unrealistic and supernatural elements with others which suggest a background of the Egyptian daily life. Thus conforms in parallel an a:fterlife that is on one hand, alien and unknown, and on the other hand, close and familiar. Our main aim is to contextualize sorne aspects of this religious composition in the living environment of the Egyptians. To cany out this study the images will be analyZed trying to examine the connections with the real world. The stud)' of the iconography and other features will allow us to deal with several issues With the intention of assessing, in the historical background of the expansion of the illustration of the Egyptian funerary Iiterature, to what extent the represerltations were only the result ofthe free imagination or were based on the lived reality.
