El presente trabajo surge de la necesidad de investigar la ilustración fotográfica en las revistas
canarias del siglo XX. Hespérides, una revista ilustrada de los años veinte, demuestra en
sus páginas la importancia del paisaje, el turismo y la raza canaria a través de la fotografía,
el papel del fotógrafo y, por supuesto, la prensa.
This article arises from the necessity to investigate the photographic illustration in Canary
journals in the twentieth century. «Hespérides», an illustrated journal of the twenties shows
the relevance of the landscape, the tourism and the Canary race through the photography,
the part played by the photographer and, of course, the press.
