Sustancias ergogénicas en el deporte. Una revisión bibliográfica.
Date
2020Abstract
de competición por estar prohibidos Background: The use of ergogenic aids to improve athletic performance, is
widespread in the world of sport. Therefore, substances such as arginine, creatine,
caffeine, HMB, erythropoietin and clenbuterol are one of the most widely used.
However, these have both positive effects and adverse effects.
Aim: Review the existing literature on the use of this type of substance in sport,
analyzing the effects of them and which athletes are potential beneficiaries for their
consumption.

Results: A total of 29 articles have been selected between 2006-2020.
Conclusions: It has been shown that the consumption of these substances has
positive effects on different sports modalities, but also, each of them, have its negative
effects. However, although studies and reviews in relation to the use of these ergogenic
substances have provided valuable information, it should be noted that its consumption
must be controlled and, in some case avoided in competition sports because it is
prohibited
