Análisis de la terapia logopédica del neonato en la UCIN: revisión teórica

Abstract

A lo largo de los años, los casos de nacimientos de niños prematuros han ido en aumento hasta el punto de ser muy probable que cualquier persona tenga un embarazo pretérmino. Con la llegada de un bebé prematuro vienen una serie de patologías o dificultades asociadas a las cuales se tienen que hacer frente, normalmente, en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos Neonatales. El presente estudio pretende identificar el papel del logopeda en estos casos. Se realiza una búsqueda bibliográfica utilizando los términos en Español prematuridad, prematuro, logopedia, logopeda, terapias logopédicas, táctil-kinestésica, método canguro, unidad de cuidados intensivos neonatales y UCI; y en Inglés: premature, infant, speech therapy, therapy y feeding, newborn, music therapy newborn y kangaroo mother care, a través de buscadores y bases de datos como PuntoQ, Dialnet, ScienceDirect, Scielo, PubMed, Scopus, ResearchGate, Elsevier, Web Of Science, Ebsco, Google y Google Schoolar. Se obtuvo un elevado número de artículos que después de los criterios de inclusión y exclusión se quedaron en 19. Respecto a las terapias llevadas a cabo en UCIN con el neonato prematuro, estudios indican que las terapias que más se llevan a cabo son: la terapia miofuncional y orofacial, la terapia táctil-kinestésica (enfocada al método mamá canguro) y la musicoterapia. Todos los artículos concluían que estas tres terapias eran altamente beneficiosas para el prematuro coincidiendo en que mejoraban su desarrollo y reducían el tiempo de estancia en el hospital.

Over the years, premature births’ cases have been increasing to the point where it is highly likely that anyone will have an early pregnancy. With the arrival of a premature baby, there are a series of pathologies or associated difficulties that usually have to be faced in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The present study seeks to identify the role of the speech therapist in these cases. A bibliographic search is performed using the Spanish terms prematuridad, prematuro, logopedia, logopeda, terapias logopédicas, táctil-kinestésica, método canguro, unidad de cuidados intensivos neonatales y UCI; and in English: prematurity, infant, speech therapy, speech therapist and feeding, newborn, music therapy newborn and kangaroo mother care, through search engines and databases such as PuntoQ, Dialnet, Sciencedirect, Scielo, PubMed, Scopus, ResearchGate, Elsevier, Web Of Science, Ebsco, Google and Google Schoolar. A high number of articles were obtained, which after the inclusion and exclusion criteria, remained at 19. Regarding the therapies carried out in the NICU with the premature baby, studies indicate that those that are carried out the most are: myofunctional and orofacial therapy, tactilekinesthetic therapy (focused on the kangaroo mother care) and music therapy. All the articles concluded that these three therapies were highly beneficial for the premature baby, agreeing that they improved their development and reduced the length of stay in the hospital.
