The Astrotourism activity tends to be increasingly offered throughout the Spanish territory
diversifying the possibilities of the destinations and improving the optimization of all its resources.
The Canary Islands, particulary, have the honor of being one of the most select destinations in
the field of astronomical tourism due to its unique atmospheric conditions, which allow an
excellent observation of the skies and the enjoyment of the celestial resource through multiple
modalities.
As the Canary Islands are a reference point for Astrotourism, they must constantly aim at
innovation and the development of the offer related with astronomical resources. This leads to the
need of analyzing the astrotourism offer of other destinations nationally and internationally with
the aim of establishing proposals to improve the management of their own resources,
exploitation, design of activities and understanding of the current and future needs of the tourists.
