2020Abstract
INTRODUCCIÓN: Se realiza revisión bibliográfica sobre el estrés en las enfermeras(os) de
las Unidades de cuidados intensivo (UCI), para caracterizar los factores estresantes, manifestaciones clínicas y medidas de afrontamiento utilizados para evitar desgaste
profesional. OBJETIVO: caracterizar del estrés laboral en el personal de enfermería de UCI
METODOLOGÍA: investigación descriptiva, retrospectiva de corte transversal de revisión
bibliográfica. RESULTADO: el personal de enfermería UCI, puede padecer estrés laboral al
exponerse a grandes responsabilidades y sobrecarga de trabajo y por el enfrentamiento
cotidiano con la enfermedad, el sufrimiento ajeno y la muerte. Para tratar el estrés se utilizan
medidas de afrontamiento entre las que se encuentran: identificación de estresores,
atención a necesidades afectivas, psicológicas, ambientales y tratar de mejorar las
condiciones laborales y ambientales DISCUSIÓN: El desequilibrio mantenido entre las
demandas que el ejercicio profesional exige y las capacidades de afrontamiento del.
Trabajador de enfermería, puede conducir al estrés laboral en este personal, caracterizado
por altos niveles de excitación y angustia, y la sensación de no poder afrontar la situación.
CONCLUSIONES: El diagnostico a través de manifestaciones biopsicosociales del estrés y
uso de estrategias para afrontar esta condición a tiempo, facilitaría el prevenir, amortiguar,
minimizar o evitar las consecuencias del estrés laboral, siendo beneficiosas también para
los enfermeros (as), los pacientes y las instituciones de salud. INTRODUCTION: A bibliographic review of stress in nurses of intensive care units (ICU) is
carried out to characterize the stressors, clinical manifestations and coping measures used to
avoid professional burnout. OBJECTIVE: to characterize work stress in ICU nursing staff
METHODOLOGY: descriptive, retrospective, cross-sectional research of bibliographic review.
RESULT: ICU nursing staff can suffer work stress by exposing themselves to great
responsibilities and work overload, and by daily coping with illness, other people's suffering
and death. To deal with stress, coping measures are used, among which are: identification of
stressors, attention to emotional, psychological, and environmental needs and trying to
improve working and environmental conditions. DISCUSSION: The imbalance maintained
between the demands that professional practice demands and coping abilities of the. Nursing
worker, can lead to job stress in these staff, characterized by high levels of excitement and
anxiety, and the feeling of not being able to cope with the situation. CONCLUSIONS: The
diagnosis through biopsychosocial manifestations of stress and the use of strategies to cope
with this condition in time, would facilitate preventing, cushioning, minimizing or avoiding the
consequences of work stress, being beneficial also for nurses, patients and health
institutions.
