2020Resumen
se ha elaborado un cuestionario separado en tres bloques de preguntas;
Historically, people with intellectual disabilities (PWID) have been discriminated against
and their rights have been violated. One of those fundamental rights is sexuality, which
has been denied them, because they have been infantilized and stigmatized. Although,
fortunately, great achievements have been made in the recognition of their rights and
advances in their full inclusion in society, there is still a long way to go. For this reason,
the objectives of this research are to know the opinion of Canarian youth about the
sexuality of PWID to estimate the knowledge they have on this subject and to determine
the influence of sociodemographic characteristics on the opinion and knowledge of the
Young Canaries on the sexuality of PCD-i. For this, a separate questionnaire has been
prepared in three blocks of questions; sociodemographic, knowledge and opinion that was
completed by 122 people, women representing 77.05% (94 women) of the sample and
men 22.95% (28 men), with an average age of 22.5 years and residents in the Canary
Islands. The results obtained have shown that the mean in knowledge is 8.4 and 8.7 in
opinion, therefore, we could consider both means as high. It is observed that sex is the
only sociodemographic factor that influences opinion.
