La negociación colectiva en el ámbito del empaquetadode platanos en Canarias: particularidades de su regulación en las islas occidentales.

Abstract

The aim of this TFG’s study is to understand the hidden details of the banana packaging’s collective bargaining in the western islands. With this purpose, work conditions existing in the collective agreements for the packaging of bananas on the islands of Tenerife, La Gomera and El Hierro; and in the collective agreement for the packaging of bananas on the island of La Palma, will be compared with the current legal regulation. Special mention is made of working time, the professional classification system and remuneration. Likewise, it will be highlighted the lack of updating and the inequality problems existing in the agreements of this sector. Finally, it will be valued and compared what are the big differences between working in a packaging on La Palma compared to doing it in the rest of the western islands

La investigación realizada con este TFG tiene por objeto analizar los entresijos de los convenios colectivos para los empaquetados de plátanos en las islas occidentales. A tal fin, se acomete el estudio de la regulación convencional realizando un análisis comparativo de los convenios colectivos para el empaquetado de plátanos en las islas de Tenerife, La Gomera y el Hierro; y, el convenio colectivo para el empaquetado de plátanos en la isla de La Palma, con regulación legal vigente al respecto. Especial mención se realiza al tiempo de trabajo, al sistema de clasificación profesional y las retribuciones. Asimismo, se valora la desactualización existente en los convenios de este sector, con los problemas que ello ataña; la desigualdad que pueda existir y, finalmente, las grandes diferencias de trabajar en un empaquetado en La Palma frente a hacerlo en el resto de islas occidentales.
