Algunas peculiaridades del léxico ictiológico del suroeste de Tenerife

Abstract

El léxico ictionímico que presentamos ha sido recogido a través de encuestas realizadas in situ en las localidades del suroeste de Tenerife. Las especies marinas aparecen agrupadas en cinco grandes categorías: I. Peces óseos, II. Peces cartilaginosos, III. Equinodermos, IV. Crustáceos y V. Moluscos. Al referirnos al léxico que conforma cada una de estas categorías abrimos dos epígrafes: (A) el de generalidades, en el cual anotamos los nombres vulgares con los que los pescadores denominan cada una de las especies, nombres que ya han sido registrados en trabajos anteriores al nuestro; en el epígrafe de particularidades (B), añadimos las voces o variantes fonéticas, aportadas por los pescadores encuestados, que no han sido recogidas en repertorios lexicológicos que han precedido al que ahora presentamos.

The following ichthyographic lexicon that we present has been elaborated through in situ enquiries in areas of southwestern Tenerife. The marine species are grouped in five large categories: I. Osseous fish, II. Cartilage fish, III. Echinoderm, IV. Crustacean, V. Molluse. Referring to the lexicon that accords to each of these categories we have two epigraphs: (A) the general one where we give the common names used by fishermen for each species, names which have already been registered in studies previous to ours; in de epigraph of particularities (B) we add on the words or phonetic varietes given by the fishermen we interviewed, and which have not been included in lexicological reports that have preceded this which we now present.
