El relativismo como una recuperación de la política

Abstract

El relativismo usualmente sufre dos tipos de críticas. Primero, la crítica epistemológica que rechaza el supuesto de que no existe validez universal. Segundo, la crítica política le achaca mantener una postura conservadora que sirve para dormir la política y el cambio social en beneficio de las fuerzas neoliberales al convertir a las culturas en los actores sociales principales así como relegar a un segundo plano la existencia de desigualdades sociales. Sin embargo, tales acusaciones no son reales porque el quehacer del relativismo es rehabilitar la política y abrir nuevos ámbitos por los que luchar, si bien es innegable que no será de la manera que tradicionalmente lo ha hecho la izquierda política.

Relativism usually undergoes two types of critics. First, the epistemological critic rejecting the assumption that universal validity does not exist. Second, the political critic claiming that is maintaining a conservative position which serves to sleep policy and social change. All of this in benefit of the neoliberal forces actually turning the cultures to be the main social actors, as well as relegating the existence of social inequalities to background. Nevertheless, such accusations are not real because the task of relativism is to rehabilitate policy and to open new scopes to fight for, although is also undeniable that it will not be in the same way that left-wing has traditionally done.
