Sacrificio humano en el registro arqueológico del Próximo Oriente: evidencias en Tell el Dab'a y Umm-el Marra

Abstract

¿Se pueden hablar de sacrificios humanos en el Oriente Próximo antiguo? Partiendo de esta pregunta parte este Trabajo Final de Máster, el cual intenta rastrear, mediante un vaciado bibliográfico, las evidencias arqueológicas que existen de sacrificios humanos en la zona próximo-oriental y el Valle del Nilo. Se toman como referencia el yacimiento de Umm el-Marra en Siria y el de Tell el-Dab’a en el Delta egipcio. Bajo la visión de la Arqueología de las Religiones se analizarán estas prácticas así como el estado actual de la cuestión.

ABSTRACT. Could it be accurate to talk about human sacrifices in the ancient Near Eastern societies? It is under this premise that this Masters Final Dissertation will analyze the given evidences of human sacrifices throughout the Near East, with special reference to the area of Syria and Egypt, taking as reference the site of Umm el-Marra and Tell the Dab'a respectively. The possible evidences will be studied, as well as the interpretations derived from their practice, from the origin of them to their possible meaning to the mentality of those societies.
