Abstract

In this project we will detail the elements needed to transform a cargo van into a mobile home. The original vehicle is a Ducato L3H2 model van from Fiat with the cargo area completely empty. Since the modified van will host the driver and up to three passengers, extra seats must be included. The project also includes the installation of thermal insulation with elastomer-based foam and birch plywood. It also has skylights with forced ventilation to aid with temperature regulation and gas ventilation. A rotatory system will be added to the front seats, enabling them to rotate to the back side and creating a dinner area which includes a detachable table. There will be a kitchen area with a gas stove, a sink, a fridge, and storage. The van will also have a functional bathroom with a sink, a shower, and a chemical toilet. Extra storage space, a double bed, and supports for an extra bed will finish the furniture equipment on the van. For the kitchen and bathroom equipment to work, we will install cool and hot water circuits, a gas circuit with a water heater and a low voltage circuit. The electric circuit has two batteries, a DC/AC inverter, and two photovoltaic panels. It also has both 12 and 230 volts subcircuits and an external connection with its protections.
