Una revisión documental sobre la convivencia intercultural entre población de acogida e inmigrantes irregulares en Tenerife.

Abstract

El siguiente trabajo intenta abordar un tema contemporáneo y de suma importancia para el Trabajo Social. Se trata de la inmigración. En este caso, se observa la inmigración irregular en Tenerife, planteando como objetivo general, conocer las características de la convivencia intercultural entre los grupos de inmigrantes irregulares que habitan en Tenerife y la población autóctona. Los resultados de la revisón llevada a cabo, destacan que el fenómeno estudiado se asocia a situaciones globales como la pobreza, los desplazamientos forzados y el encuentro no programado entre culturas. En Tenerife se reproducen modelos de integración que tienden a subalternizar a los inmigrantes irregulares, lo cual se observa fundamentalmente entre africanos llegados a la isla. De allí la importancia de educar para la convivencia intercultural, llamando la atención sobre el rol del trabajador social, en particular.

The following work attempts to address a contemporary issue of great importance for Social Work. It's about immigration. In this case, irregular immigration in Tenerife is observed, with the general objective being to know the characteristics of intercultural coexistence between the groups of irregular immigrants that live in Tenerife and the native population. The results of the review carred out, highlight that the phenomenon studied is associated with global situations such as poverty, forced displacement and the unscheduled encounter between cultures. In Tenerife, integration models are reproduced that tend to subalternize irregular immigrants, which is fundamentally observed among Africans who arrived on the island. Hence the importance of educating for intercultural coexistence, drawing attention to the role of the social worker, in particular.
