Realidad social y jurídica de la mujer durante el Antiguo Régimen

Abstract

El presente trabajo analiza cómo era la vida de las mujeres en España durante el Antiguo Régimen (siglos XVI a XVIII), desde un punto de vista cotidiano (dentro del hogar, su concepción familiar y matrimonial…), social (cómo se concebía a la mujer desde el prisma del cristianismo y el educacional) y legislativo (se señalará la desigualdad por parte de leyes penales y civiles). La conexión entre todos ellos señala el alto grado de violencia al que estuvieron sometidas las mujeres. La violencia de género, tal y como se define hoy en día, se expresaba en todos los ámbitos de sus vidas, desde la violencia física a la moral, pasando por la sexual, económica, jurídica…

The present paper analyzes how was the life of women in Spain during the Ancien Régime (XVI to XVIII centuries) was, from a daily point of view (within the home, its family and marital conception…), social (how women were conceived from the prism of Christianity and education), and legislative point of view (inequality on the part of criminal and civil laws will be pointed out). The connection between all of them points to the high degree of violence to which women were subjected.
