La Gran Armada y la Contra Armada de 1589. Un estudio histórico e historiográfico.

Recientes investigaciones y publicaciones parecen haber abierto el camino a la
desmitificación de lo ocurrido en 1588 con la Gran Armada. Por otra parte y como
consecuencia de esta operación naval, se produjo la Contra Armada inglesa al año
siguiente, sobre cuyos hechos no existe prácticamente bibliografía.
Para conocer la verdad de lo que ocurrió en aquellas fechas es necesario escoger
dentro de la variada historiografía, aquella que transmita el relato más verídico de la Historia
y desechar la que ha tratado de transformar el deseo, la conveniencia en realidad. A la luz
de los nuevos trabajos, y principalmente tras el movimiento revisionista producido tras el
cuarto centenario de la Gran Armada, se debe replantear el estudio de los hechos históricos
para que la leyenda, el mito, no puedan sustituir a la Historia. Recent research and publications seem to have opened the way to the
demystification of what happened in 1588 with the great Armada. On the other hand, and
as a consequence of these naval operation, came against English Navy the following year
on the facts there is no practically bibliography.
To know the truth of what happened in those days it is necessary to choose within
the varied historiography that transmitted the most truthful account of history and dispose
which sought to transform the desire, the convenience in something real. After new works,
and mainly after the revisionist movement occurred after the fourth centenary of the Great

Armada, must rethink the study of these historical facts so that the legend, myth, could not
replace the history.
