Sarna humana: ¿enfermedad del pasado?

Abstract

La sarna es una enfermedad extendida por todo el planeta, que cuenta con tratamiento para su control, sin embargo, no se le presta la atención que requiere y cada año hay numerosos brotes y casos. En este trabajo se realizó una descripción de la enfermedad y sus consecuencias, incluyendo información sobre casos y brotes en nuestro país y la tendencia y recorrido de esta enfermedad teniendo en cuenta los grupos de población e instituciones afectadas. Asimismo, también se mencionarán y describirán algunos brotes y/o casos en la Comunidad Autónoma de Canarias y se hará un análisis de la situación en la misma. Se destaca, al final de este trabajo, cómo esta patología afecta a las personas mayores en mayor proporción, constituyendo el grupo poblacional más vulnerable. También se pone de manifiesto la gran cantidad de brotes que se producen en los hogares, donde se observa que la situación generada por el COVID-19 ha producido una elevación de la incidencia en estos últimos años.

Scabies is a disease that spreads throughout the world, and its treated for its extinction, however, it is not given the attention it requires and every year there are numerous outbreaks and cases. In this work, a description of the disease and its consequences will be made and we will see the volume of cases and outbreaks in our country, and its trend and route based on the data that have been collected and grouped according to the population groups and institutions affected. The data mentioned are obtained from four national registry data bases that group the data in different ways. Also, in the work, some outbreaks and/or cases, including the autonomous community of the Canary Islands will be mentioned and described, and analysis of the situation in it will be made. At the end of this work, older people are highlighted as the main population group affected, in addition to being the most vulnerable. Also noteworthy is the number of outbreaks in homes, where it has been seen that the COVID-19 situation has led to a higher incidence in recent years.
