La participación de la familia en la escuela

Abstract

Cuando hablamos de escuela o de centro escolar, no sólo nos referimos a las infraestructuras y a sus instalaciones o al lugar en el que se realizan actividades y procesos de enseñanza – aprendizaje, sino que es un concepto que, de manera intrínseca, lleva acarreado muchos más términos, como pueden ser el de personal docente y no docente, el del alumnado, los familiares, las posibles relaciones, vinculaciones o conexiones existentes entre los últimos tres grupos nombrados… Por esta misma razón, resulta esencial mencionar la relación de la familia y la escuela, ya que ha sido un concepto que ha ido evolucionando y cobrando mayor importancia a medida que han pasado los años, convirtiéndose en un factor fundamental para que las tres partes implicadas, familia, alumnado y escuela, puedan realizar con éxito sus tareas. Cabe destacar que para trabajar y afianzar la relación entre la familia y la escuela, es imprescindible utilizar como herramienta un plan de acción familiar (PAF), donde todas las partes implicadas en la escuela o educación, trabajan en conjunto; es por ello por lo que en este proyecto se va a realizar una propuesta de PAF atendiendo a una serie de requisitos fundamentales para su elaboración. Asimismo, los objetivos que pretendemos lograr a nivel general con la realización de este trabajo son: a) Considerar a las familias como eje fundamental en la educación de sus hijos e hijas, así como valorar la implicación de éstas en la educación de los/as mismos. b) Indagar y dar a conocer las diferentes formas de participación de las familias que posibiliten y propicien acciones que, por parte de los padres y madres, favorezcan educación de sus hijos e hijas. c) Saber intervenir o actuar cuando la relación familia-escuela es escasa o nula.

When we talk about a college or a school, we are not only referring to the infrastructure and its facilities or to the place where the teaching-learning activities and processes take place, but it is a concept that, intrinsically, has involved many more terms, such as teaching and non-teaching staff, students, family members, possible relationships, links or existing connections between the last three named groups... Due to this same reason, it is essential to mention the relationship between family and school, since it has been a concept that has been evolving and increasing importance as the years go by becoming a fundamental factor for the three parties involved, family, students and the school, can successfully carry out their tasks. It should be noted that in order to work and strengthen the relationship between the family and the school, it is essential to use a family action plan (PAF) as a tool, where all the parties involved in the school or education work together; that is why in this project a PAF proposal is going to be made, attending to a series of fundamental requirements for its elaboration. Likewise, the objectives that we intend to achieve at a general level with the completion of this work are: a) Consider families as a fundamental axis in the education of their sons and daughters, as well as value their involvement in their education. b) Investigate and publicize the different forms of participation of families that enable and promote actions that, on the part of parents, favor the education of their sons and daughters. c) Know how to intervene or act when the family-school relationship is scarce or non-existent.
