Derechos humanos protegidos por otro derecho: el derecho de asilo.

Abstract

Cuando aludimos al término derechos humanos nos centramos principalmente en aquellos derechos que se consideran fundamentales, porque se entiende que son la columna vertebral de la convivencia entre los seres humanos y la dignidad de la propia persona. De ahí que hablemos del derecho a la vida, a la libertad, a la integridad física, a su propia seguridad, entre otros, como los principales motores de nuestra subsistencia. En torno al derecho de asilo, circulan los derechos fundamentales amenazados por actos de persecución o violencia, amparados por el principio de no devolución. Es considerado un derecho humano internacional recogido en la Declaración Universal de Derechos Humanos, en la Convención de Ginebra y en la Constitución Española, entre otras normas legislativas. Es, por tanto, un derecho que intenta proteger otros derechos.

When we refer to the term human rights we focus mainly on those rights that are considered fundamental, because it is understood that they are the backbone of coexistence between human beings and the dignity of the person himself. That is why we talk about the right to life, liberty, physical integrity, among others, as the main engines of our subsistence. Around the right to asylum, fundamental rights threatened by acts of persecution or violence circulate, protected by the principle of non-refoulement. It is considere dan international human right included in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Geneva Convention and the Spanish Constitution, among other legislative norms. It is, therefore, a right that seeks to protect other rights.
