Sur les sources du dictionnaire français-espagnol de Francisco Sobrino

Abstract

Este artículo desmiente la opinión más generalizada hasta ahora sobre la fuente pri-mordial de Francisco Sobrino para establecer los lemas de la parte francés-español de su Dic-cionario nuevo de las lenguas española y francesa (1705): no fue el Dictionnaire françois de Pierre Richelet, sino el Royal Dictionary de Abel Boyer. También se ocupa de las demás fuentes usadas por Sobrino para componer esa misma parte francés-español de su obra. Analiza, finalmente, cuáles fueron las fuentes fundamentales de la segunda edición (1721) del diccionario de So-brino y sus principales diferencias con la primera edición.

This article belies the most shared opinion on the primordial source of Francisco So-brino in the choice of lemmas of the French-Spanish part of his famous dictionary (1705): it is not the Dictionnaire françois of Pierre Richelet, but The Royal Dictionary of Abel Boyer. It also deals with the other sources used by Sobrino for the composition of the same French-Spanish part of his work. Finally, it establishes what were the fundamental sources of the sec-ond edition (1721) of Sobrino’s dictionary, as well as its main differences with the first edition.
