This master's thesis, belonging to the university master's degree in renewable energies at the
University of La Laguna, consists of the dimensioning of energy use facilities based on renewable energy
sources according to the procedures of calculation fixed to normative of application, and aim to project a design
of the energy installations necessary to provide a single-family home currently connected to the grid, in the
Canary Islands, with the necessary self-sufficiency according to its energy demand, focusing directly into the
electricity and hot water demands.
The idea is that the projected systems work synergistically with each other, to offer the end user, with
respect to the installations connected to the network, normal use in their home installations, as well as
maintaining the same living comfort.
This work also seeks greater independence of the electricity distribution and marketing system, and
thus protect itself from the volatility of electricity market prices, which strongly depend on the tensions of the
socio-political-economic panorama at the international level, which goes beyond of the control of the citizens.
And in the other side, it also seeks demonstrate that it is possible to reach to produce in a mediumlong-term several monetary savings. That means that their cost of implementation due the required capital
investment, can return because them will be amortized investments in reasonable terms, between 6 and 15
years, also guaranteeing sufficient self-consumption energy generation for self-supply of demand of the
familiar core.
In addition, this kind of investment also promoting some SDGs established by the 2030 Agenda, as
the number 7 about clean and accessible energy for everyone, and 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, betting for the development
of the ecological and energy transition. Lastly, mention that this, that so important is at a global level, can today
be carried out in whole Spain as a fact, in a practical way thanks to a lot of aids and subsidies programs running
on which are being promoted from the Government.
