This paper has a twofold aim: on the one hand, it analyses the point of view of Lord of the Flies following a narratological approach in order to demonstrate that the perspectives of both the protagonist, Ralph, and the officer, though important, are far from being the only ones that form the point of view of the novel. On the other hand, the essay points out the thematic implications of the novel's varied perspective, showing that it is the gradually increasing role of Ralph as a focalizer that brings about the reader's identification with the former, and noting in addition that it is from Simon's point of view that the symbolic core of the novel is disclosed.en_EN
