Protección de los derechos humanos durante los conflictos bélicos.

Abstract

The protection of Human Rights is a priority for the international community, and this protection is even more necessary during armed conflicts, due to the fact that, during these situations, it generates a climate of violence and human degradation in which the civilian population becomes more vulnerable, so it is essential to avoid unnecessary human suffering. Therefore, a normative framework is created in order to regulate and defend those rights during the course of a war, such as the 1949 Geneva Conventions and their additional protocols, or certain treaties on the use of conventional weapons, as well as , International Organizations are in charge of ensuring these rights and mitigating the effects of the armed conflict. At the moment, one of the most notorious armed conflicts, which still persists, is the Russian invasion of Ukraine, in which countless Human Rights of both the combatants and the civilian population have been violated, for this reason, several International Organizations, such as The United Nations or the International Committee of the Red Cross have mobilized to act accordingly, in order to protect and assist the affected civilian population and ensure respect for Human Rights.

La protección de los Derechos Humanos es una prioridad para la comunidad internacional, y dicha protección resulta aún más necesaria durante los conflictos bélicos, ya que durante estas situaciones, se genera un clima de violencia y degradación humana en el cual la población civil se vuelve más vulnerable y resulta esencial evitar el sufrimiento humano innecesario. Por lo tanto, se ha creado un marco normativo con el fin de regular y defender dichos derechos durante el curso de una guerra, como los Convenios de Ginebra de 1949 y sus protocolos adicionales, o ciertos tratados sobre el uso de armas convencionales, al igual que, surgen Organizaciones Internacionales encargadas de velar por estos derechos y mitigar los efectos del conflicto armado. Actualmente, uno de los conflictos bélicos más notorios, que aún perdura, es la invasión rusa de Ucrania, durante la cual, se han vulnerado incontables Derechos Humanos tanto de los combatientes como de la población civil, por lo que, varias Organizaciones Internacionales, como las Naciones Unidas o el Comité Internacional De la Cruz Roja, se han movilizado para actuar en consecuencia, con el fin de proteger y asistir a la población civil afectada y velar por el respeto de los Derechos Humanos.
