Varada de un buque tipo Ro-Ro/Pax

Abstract

Las varadas obligatorias por las que tiene que pasar un buque durante su vida útil se convierten en procesos necesarios para que el buque en cuestión pueda otorgar a sus tripulantes, carga y pasaje la seguridad que necesita. Por ello, es inevitable que cada cierto tiempo, deban pasar por una varada en seco. Este proyecto se focalizará en explicar de forma detallada los diferentes trabajos que se llevan a cabo a bordo durante un periodo de varada de un mes y una semana en el buque “Juan J. Sister”, un buque de carga rodada y pasaje denominado “RoRo/Pax” donde realicé parte de mis prácticas de alumno de puente. Durante todo el trabajo, se darán a conocer las funciones de cada oficial antes y a lo largo de la varada, la importancia de llevar el buque a varada, la normativa a seguir durante el tiempo de varada por parte del astillero y de las sociedades de clasificación por las que se rigen los certificados otorgados al buque, las pruebas por las que pasa el buque antes de comenzar a navegar de nuevo y la importancia medioambiental que supone llevar un buque a dique seco. Gracias a la recolección de información que se ha hecho en este periodo, permitirá que todo aquel que necesite una guía para asistir a una varada de este tipo de buques tenga un documento donde pueda hacerse una idea general de lo que se podrá encontrar.

The obligatory dockages which a ship has to undergo throughout its useful life becomes a necessary process so that the ship in question can grant its crew, cargo and passage the security required. Therefore, it is inevitable that from time to time, the vessel has to go through a dry dockage period. This project will focalise on explaining in an in-depth way the different jobs which are carried out on board during a dockage periodo of one month and one week on the “Juan J. Sister” ship, a Roll on-Roll off/Passenger vessel “Ro-Ro/Pax” where I did part of my internship as deck cadet. Throughout the whole of this project, you will be informed about the roles of each deck officer before and during the dockage, the rules to be followed on behalf of the shipyard and the classification societies which govern the certificates granted to the vessel, the tests which the vessel has to undergo before setting sail again and the enviromental importance of drydocking a vessel. As a result of the information gathered throughout this period, all those who need a reference for a dockage of this type of vessel will be able to get a general idea of what they wil find
