Eficacia de la intervención logopédica en niños con implante coclear antes de los 3 años de edad.

Abstract

El objetivo de este trabajo ha sido comparar la eficacia de la intervención logopédica en niños/as con implante coclear, antes y después de los 3 años de edad, así como analizar las terapias logopédicas más efectivas. Para ello, se ha realizado una revisión sistemática a través de la búsqueda bibliográfica en diferentes bases de datos (SCOPUS, PubMed y Web of Science), de donde se ha extraído un total de 9 documentos. Los hallazgos muestran que cuanto antes se realice la implantación coclear y se comience la intervención por parte de los logopedas, mejor será el desarrollo de las habilidades lingüísticas y de audición de estos niños/as. Sin embargo, debido a la falta de estudios y las diferencias entre ellos, no se ha podido determinar la edad idónea para comenzar la intervención, aunque se puede aventurar que, los 12 primeros meses de vida pueden establecerse como el periodo más crítico para el desarrollo del lenguaje. Finalmente, tampoco se ha podido determinar cuál de las distintas terapias logopédicas (TAV, CT y LS) es la más efectiva, debido a la escasez de investigaciones al respecto, pero la combinación de varias de estas terapias, puede ser el enfoque más adecuado.

The objective of this work has been to compare the efficacy of speech therapy intervention in children with cochlear implants, before and after 3 years of age, as well as to analyze the most effective speech therapy therapies. For this, a systematic review has been carried out through the bibliographic search in different databases (SCOPUS, PubMed and Web of Science), from which a total of 9 documents have been extracted. The findings show that the sooner the cochlear implantation is carried out and the intervention by the speech therapists begins, the better the development of the linguistic and hearing skills of these children will be. However, due to the lack of studies and the differences between them, it has not been possible to determine the ideal age to start the intervention, although it can be ventured that the first 12 months of life can be established as the most critical period for development of language. Finally, it has not been possible to determine which of the different speech therapy therapies (AVT, TC and SL) is the most effective either, due to the scarcity of research on the subject, but the combination of several of these therapies may be the most appropriate approach.
