Características de los astilleros y su implementación en aguas de Canarias

Abstract

Este TFG ha sido orientado al campo de la construcción y reparación naval. Concretamente he centrado mi investigación en documentar la evolución histórica de los astilleros, sus tipos, así como las dificultades a las que se ha enfrentado el sector en cada una de las etapas y la competencia que existe entre los países. He tratado de identificar y dar información sobre los principales procesos que tienen lugar en el astillero desde el diseño al ensamble final, así como los riesgos derivados de los mismos tanto a las personas y su seguridad como posibles daños al medio ambiente. He recopilado información de la maquinaria empleada y los métodos de varada, sus características, usabilidad, limitaciones y diferencias. Finalmente se ha analizado la peculiaridad de la posición geográfica de Canarias, tanto sus ventajas como las limitaciones actuales que tienen los astilleros de las islas, proponiendo un nuevo proyecto de astillero capaz de solventar parte de la problemática a la que se enfrenta la reparación naval en el archipiélago.

This End of Degree Project has been oriented to the field of shipbuilding and ship repair. Specifically, I have focused my research on documenting the historical evolution of shipyards, their types, as well as the difficulties that the sector has faced in each of the stages and the competition that exists between countries. I have tried to identify and provide information on the main processes that take place in the shipyard from design to final assembly, as well as the risks derived from them both to people and their safety and possible damage to the environment. I have collected information on the machinery used and the dry-docking methods, their characteristics, usability, limitations and differences. Finally, the peculiarity of the geographical position of the Canary Islands has been analyzed, both its advantages and the current limitations of the shipyards in the islands, proposing a new shipyard project capable of solving part of the problems faced by ship repair in the archipelago.
