Percepción social sobre la prostitución y el consumo de drogas.

Abstract

El objetivo principal de este trabajo es conocer la percepción social sobre el papel del consumo de drogas entre las mujeres que ejercen la prostitución. Para ello, es necesario entender qué es y cómo se lleva a cabo la prostitución y también investigar la posición de la sociedad con respecto a las medidas legales, la culpabilización y la indignación moral hacia las mujeres prostitutas. Para conseguir dicho objetivo, se llevó a cabo un diseño experimental. Se realizó un cuestionario en donde los y las participantes observaron uno de los escenarios planteados de manera totalmente aleatoria mediante el programa Qualtrics. La mitad de los/las participantes leyó el escenario del consumo de drogas antes de ejercer la prostitución y, a la otra mitad, el mismo escenario, pero cambiando el inicio del consumo. En concreto, se empezaba a una vez que la mujer estaba dentro de la prostitución. En total, participaron 50 personas. Se analizó, utilizando el programa estadístico SPSS si había diferencia entre géneros y si había relación entre las variables a estudiar,.siendo estas 1) las actitudes hacia las medidas legales hacia la prostitución; 2) la atribución de culpabilidad a las mujeres prostitutas; y, por último, 3) la indignación moral hacia dichas mujeres. Los resultados de esta investigación mostraron que el posicionamiento hacia las medidas legales están relacionadas con la percepción de las personas hacia las mujeres prostitutas. Además, se encontraron diferencias en las actitudes atendiendo a si el consumo de drogas se produce antes o una vez dentro de la prostitución. Los hallazgos ponen de manifiesto la importancia de abordar los prejuicios sobre las mujeres que ejercen la prostitución y que consumen drogas , cuestiones que deberían incorporarse en las intervenciones orientadas areducir los estigmas y desvalorizaciones hacia las mujeres que ejercen la prostitución.

The main objective of this work is to understand the social perception of the role of drug consumption among women who engage in prostitution. To achieve this, it is necessary to understand what prostitution is and how it is carried out, as well as to investigate the position of society regarding legal measures, blame, and moral outrage towards female prostitutes. To achieve this goal, an experimental design was carried out. A questionnaire was administered where the participants observed one of the scenarios presented randomly through the Qualtrics program. Half of the participants read the drug consumption scenario before engaging in prostitution and the other half read the same scenario, but with the beginning of drug use changed. Specifically, drug use started once the woman was involved in prostitution. A total of 50 people participated, and the statistical program SPSS was used to analyze whether there was a difference between genders and whether there was a relationship between the variables studied. These variables were: 1) attitudes towards legal measures regarding prostitution; 2) attributions of guilt to female prostitutes; and, finally, 3) moral outrage towards these women. The results of this research showed that the position towards legal measures is related to people's perception of female prostitutes. In addition, differences in attitudes were found depending on whether drug use occurs before or after entering prostitution. These findings highlight the importance of addressing prejudices about women who engage in prostitution and consume drugs, issues that should be incorporated into interventions aimed at reducing stigmatization and devaluation towards female prostitutes
