Atributos de la Generación Z y su relación con el turismo mochilero

Abstract

Tourism, and in particular backpacker tourism, is a globally significant activity due to its cultural and socio-labour impact. In this context, the main objective of this paper is to analyse how the profile of Generation Z could be related to the characteristics of backpacker tourism. To do so, we will rely on a comprehensive review of the existing literature, both on backpacker tourism and Generation Z. The novelty of this study lies in the fact that it addresses a topic that has not yet been explored, which is the possible relationship between Generation Z and backpacker tourism. The results of the content analysis of the literature show that the profile of Generation Z is significantly related to the characteristics of backpacker tourism. This is intended to benefit professionals in the tourism sector who want to promote backpacker tourism and attract this population segment, while providing a basis for future research.

El turismo, y en particular el turismo mochilero, es una actividad significativa a nivel global por su impacto cultural y sociolaboral. En este contexto, el objetivo principal de este trabajo es analizar cómo el perfil de la Generación Z podría estar relacionada con las características del turismo mochilero. Para ello, nos basaremos en una revisión exhaustiva de la literatura existente, tanto sobre el turismo mochilero como sobre la Generación Z. La novedad de este estudio radica en que aborda una temática aún poco explorada, esto es, la posible relación entre la Generación Z y el turismo mochilero. Los resultados del análisis del contenido de la literatura constatan que el perfil de la Generación Z se relaciona significativamente con las características del turismo mochilero. Con ello se pretende beneficiar a profesionales del sector turístico que quieran promocionar el turismo mochilero y atraer a este segmento poblacional, a la vez que proporcionar una base para futuras investigaciones.
