This study emphasizes the importance of developing reading habits and promoting literature exposure in early childhood for holistic individual development and socialization. It focuses on future preschool teachers' formation as reading mediators and the didactic use of the library for that purpose. The research analyzes 106 students enrolled in the Degree in Early Childhood Education at the University of La Laguna using a validated questionnaire about students' beliefs and experiences regarding reading habits and its relationship with libraries. Results reveal a weak reading habit among participants and a limited view of the library's potential. Specific training on using the library as a didactic tool is lacking at a high education level. However, future teachers recognize the significance of incorporating the library as a fundamental element in fostering reading habits.
