Del Mediterráneo al Atlántico: parla y representaciones marineras en la primera mitad del siglo XV

Abstract

A partir de cuatros relatos de viaje por mar redactados en la primera mitad del siglo xv y que abarcan tanto el Mediterráneo como el Atlántico, el estudio se propone mostrar como los marineros y los viajeros embarcados con ellos perciben ambos mundos marítimos una vez pasado la separación simbólica del estrecho de Gibraltar. ¿Cómo perciben las diferencias entre un espacio y el otro? ¿Cómo se adaptan a ellas?

Departing from four sea travel accounts written in the first half of the fifteenth century which cover both the Mediterranean and the Atlantic, the study aims to show how sailors and those travellers embarked with them perceived both maritime worlds once the symbolic boundary of the Gibraltar Strait past. How to regard the differences between one space and another? How to adapt to them?
