La movilidad residencial en Santiago del Teide

La movilidad internacional de personas mayores, ingleses y alemanes retirados
de la vida activa, hasta las costas españolas y, en particular a las canarias, es un
fenómeno cada vez más intenso y con importantes repercusiones demográficas,
económicas, sociales y territoriales para los lugares de destino. Con una metodología
que combina las técnicas cuantitativas y cualitativas se comprueba que la benignidad
del clima, la belleza paisajística y la tranquilidad son las causas que han motivado la
conversión de los núcleos turísticos de la costa de Santiago del Teide en la isla de
Tenerife —Acantilado de los Gigantes, Puerto de Santiago y Playa de La Arena—, en
espacios de residencialidad de los jubilados europeos. Asimismo, se demuestra que este
tipo de movilidad es responsable del elevado envejecimiento de la población, no sólo de
los núcleos turísticos, sino la del conjunto del municipio, así como del dinamismo del
mercado inmobiliario de venta y alquiler, y del desarrollo de los grandes
supermercados. The international mobility of elderly people, English and german who are retired
from the active life, and moved the Spanish coasts and, especially to the Canary coasts,
has become and intense and increasing with important demographic, economic, social
and territorial repercussions for the places of destination. Using a quantitative and
qualitative methodology it be considered that the good climate, the beautifull landscape
and the tranquility are the reasons that have motivated the conversion of the tourist
nucleus of the coast of Santiago of the Teide on the island of Tenerife —Acantilado de
los Gigantes, Puerto de Santiago y Playa de la Arena—, in to a residencial area for
European pensioners. Likewise, it has been demonstrated that this type of mobility is
responsible for the incrase of the age of the population, not only for the tourist areas, but
for all the municipality, as well as housing market of sale and rent, and for the
development of big supermarkets.
