Clase social, género, rendimiento académico, PISA, competencia matemática The present work of end of degree aims to analyze what is the interaction between social
class, gender and performance in mathematics, at the level of Spain. An approximation
will be made to the subject in question, trying to justify why these variables influence
academic performance in general, and in performance in mathematics. From here, we will
study how the variables related to the methodology of teachers in the classroom are
affecting the performance in mathematics of students, in relation to their social class and
gender. The results obtained in the methodological section, based on the mathematical
score of the PISA data of the year 2015 in Spain, will allow us to analyze and argue
whether the role played by both schools and teachers is affecting positively or negative
in student performance.
