Abstract

Fernando Estévez González (1953-2016) es un referente en la teoría social y la museología y la antropología de Canarias. Profesor universitario desde 1982, impartió numerosas asignaturas durante más de treinta y siete años en diversas facultades de la Universidad de La Laguna, siendo además director y, posteriormente, coordinador del Museo de Historia y Antropología de Tenerife. Entre sus aportaciones se encuentran sus influyentes estudios historiográficos sobre los aborígenes canarios, sus trabajos sobre la cultura material, el patrimonio, el turismo, el arte o las identidades.

Fernando Estévez González (1953-2016) is a reference in the social theory, the museology and the anthropology of the Canary Islands. Professor since 1982, he taught many subjects for more than thirty-seven years in different faculties at the University of La Laguna, being also director and, later, coordinator of the Museum of History and Anthropology of Tenerife. Among his contributions are his influential historiographical studies on aboriginal canaries, his work on material culture, heritage, tourism, art or identities.
