Arquitectura y color: intervenciones artísticas. Tres casos suizos

Abstract

El artículo analiza el trabajo de tres artistas suizos que han colaborado, en diversas ocasiones, en la concepción cromática de edificios: Helmut Federle, Adrian Schiess y Rémy Zaugg. A pesar de pertenecer a una misma escena artística, sus puntos de vista a la hora de trabajar con el color son diferentes. Se asocian a ellos las ideas del teórico suizo del color Johannes Itten, que establece también tres posibles puntos de vista para abordar el problema estético de los colores: el intelectual y simbólico (construcción del color), el psíquico (expresión del color) y el sensible y óptico (impresión del color). En el artículo se pone de manifiesto la aproximación de los tres artistas a esos tres puntos de vista respectivamente, aunque se identifican algunos solapamientos entre ellos.

The article presents the work of three Swiss artists who have collaborated on a number of occasions on the chromatic concept in architecture: Helmut Federle, Adrian Schiess and Rémy Zaugg. Despite belonging to the same artistic scene, their points of view when working with colour are different. They are associated with the ideas of the Swiss colour theorist, Johannes Itten, who also establishes three possible points of view when addressing the aesthetic problem of colours: the intellectual and symbolic point of view (colour construction), the psychological point of view (expression of colour) and the sensitive and optical point of view (colour impression). The article illustrates the similarities between the three artists and these three points of view respectively, although some coincidences were identified.
