El extraño Síndrome del Acento Extranjero

Abstract

El Síndrome del Acento Extranjero (SAE), es una enfermedad rara que genera una alteración en la producción del habla, y cuyo principal síntoma es la aparición de un acento diferente al del habla nativa, pero sin modificar las reglas gramaticales propias de la lengua materna. Este trabajo de revisión teórica, tiene como objetivo examinar y recopilar la información existente en hasta el momento. Para ello, se realizó una búsqueda en diversos buscadores, como “Pubmed”, “Google”, “Google Académico” y “Dialnet”. Como dato relevante, señalar que existe un acuerdo generalizado en que el SAE, tiene como causa, una alteración en el SNC, con posible localización en regiones corticales y subcorticales de los ganglios basales. A día de hoy, no existe tratamiento para este síndrome. Queda de manifiesto la urgente necesidad de seguir investigando en este tema.

The Foreign Accent Syndrome (FAS) is a rare disease that creates an alteration in the production of speech, which to a larger extent, produces a damage in the Central Nervous System (CNS). Its main symptom is the appearance of a different kind of accent from the native speech, but without modifying the grammatical rules of the mother tongue. The principal objective of this written is to make a systematic review which gather a series of studies of the last years about this syndrome. "Pubmed", "Google", "Google Scholar" and "Dialnet" have been used as the main search angienes to collect the information. Regarding the information obtained, this study shows that the Foreing Accent Syndrome is caused by an alteration in the CNS, possible located in cortical and subcortical regions of the basal ganglion. Currently, there is no treatment for this syndrome. It´s something notorious that there is an urgent need to continue with new investigations.
