AB Migratory movements and the presence of immigrantsin our societies are at the centre of political and mediaattention in Europe. In a context in which xenophobicparties have alarmingly increased their support base andwhere rumors and false or biased news are skewing thepublic debate on migration, it is particularly urgent andimportant that civil society, institutions and the mediahave substantiated and verifiable information. Promotingand disseminating scientific knowledge on migratoryphenomena is one of the main purposes of the TenerifeImmigration Observatory.
