RT info:eu-repo/semantics/article T1 La singularidad morfológica del español "párpado" A1 González Luis, Francisco K1 Lenguas románicas AB The existence in Spanish of the singular form párpado(palpetrum), a survival of Latin palpebrae (palpetrae), is aparadigmatic example of a series of common linguistic phenomena whichgerzerally are well described in the study of the evolution of Latin into theromance languages. Among these phenomena the following can be cited:changes in grammatical gender of words referring to parts of the body, double stressing of words whose penultimate syllabe occurs before «mutacum liquida», alternation and switching positions of dfferent suffixes, andthe influence of Greek words on Latin versions of Greek technical books.
