AB Cyclodextrins are glucose oligomer capable of forming inclusion complexes with hydrophobic drugs. There are 3 natural cyclodextrins that differ from each other according to the glucopyranose units that they possess and,from them, new types have been synthesized. They could be useful in the formulation of medicines intended forthe pediatric population since they are capable of solving some of the problems of the characteristics of theindividuals of the collective such as the masking of odors and flavors, improving the solubility or bioavailabilityof active ingredients. .. Due to its regulation as excipients in 2017, the publications of articles on cyclodextrinsin pediatric formulations has been increasing, but it is necessary to carry out more studies on safety and efficacy.
