AB "The evolution of the guilds in the kingdoms of Castilla and Leon" will coverall those events that took place in respect of the guilds throughout the 12th to 17thcenturies. Initially conceived as voluntary associative realities of solidarity andmutual help (under the denomination of "cofradías", like the current trade unions),they would end up assuming normative and jurisdictional powers in the scope ofeach one of the trades (like the Franco's vertical trade unions)The object of this End of Degree Paper will be precisely the analysis of thisevolution (going through the stages of stagnation, consolidation and, finally,transition), and of how it affects its progressive structure, functions andcomposition. Finally, it will be analysed its social impact (dignification of unskilledtrades, among others) and economic impact (mainly, from the subtraction of thefunctioning of the market from the rules of supply and demand) up to the momentof its abolition in the 18th century
