AB This paper dismantles thanks to cartography three myths commonly associated with theMiddle Ages: the idea that the Earth was flat, that Jerusalem was in the center of the world,and that dragons inhabited its margins. The visual richness that medieval maps boast presentsa more complex world than the one we have invented for it. As it is well known, appearancescan be deceiving. The lack of scientific projection and the importance of religious symbolismmust be overcome to discover the world of the Middle Ages.
