AB The study of the type material according to modern systematic has revealed a new taxonomic position of some crustose coralline algae of Canary Island. In this paper the following new combinations are proposed: Neogoniolithon ,hirtum (Lemoine) Afonso-Carrillo, N. illitus (Lemoine) Afonso-Carrillo, N. orotavicum (Foslie) Lemoine ex Afonso-Carrillo, Phymatolithon bisporum (Foslie) Afonso- Carrillo, Pseudolithophyllum vickersiae (Lemoine)Afonso-Carrillo, Gonioli thon polycephalum (Foslie) Afonso-Carrillo andSporolithon africanum (Foslie) Afonso-Carrillo. Lithophyllum applicatum Lemoine and Tenarea adhaerens Lemoine are considered synomyms of Neogoniolithon hirtum (Lemoine) Afonso-Carrillo.
